A ride on the historic streetcar lines of New Orleans is a wonderful way to explore the city, especially on a beautiful spring day. Whether you're making a quick commute, planning a full day along a streetcar line, or perhaps even visiting New Orleans open houses in style, streetcars offer a fun, affordable, convenient option for getting around your favorite city.   • Get to Know New Orleans Streetcar Lines
    New Orleans streetcars
    can take you to many popular attractions around the city, and are also just a great way to see the sights on a scenic ride near New Orleans homes for sale. There are 5 streetcar lines in total, which we'll cover in more depth below. If you're paying cash, each ride is $1.25 (exact change required) for adults, but most riders prefer to use the Le Pass app. With the app, you can pay cashless for individual rides or purchase a Jazzy Pass, which allows unlimited rides for 1, 3, or 31 days.

  • The St. Charles Line
    For over 150 years, the St. Charles Line has been a familiar sight as it rolls down St. Charles and Carrollton Avenues, with its iconic dark green streetcars. This route covers 6 miles in total, from the Central Business District to Uptown. Along the way, you'll pass beautiful, historic mansions, as well as the fantastic Audubon Park, where you can enjoy a round of golf at the Audubon Park Golf Course or a day of family fun at the Audubon Park Zoo, along with many other activities.

  • The Riverfront Line
    Planning a day out with the kids, or a day of shopping with friends? The Riverfront Line passes by the Audubon Aquarium and Audubon Insectarium, perfect for a fun, educational family trip. It also passes a wide range of shopping destinations, including the French Market District, the Riverwalk Outlets, and the Canal Place shops.

  • The Canal Street Line
    It's hard to miss the vibrant red streetcars of the Canal Street Line, which can bring you to both outdoor adventures and some of the best museums in New Orleans. The 5.5-mile line travels from the Central Business District through the Mid-City area, ending at the outstanding City Park where you can discover natural beauty and outdoor fun for all ages. It also passes a number of museums, both large and small, including the excellent New Orleans Museum of Art.

  • The Rampart/St. Claude Line
    The original Rampart/St. Claude Line stopped rolling in 1949, before making its triumphant return in 2016. This line is an excellent choice if you'd like to visit Marigny/Bywater, a part of the city packed with New Orleans history, culture, and attractions. While you're there, visit the St. Claude Arts District, which is home to a wide range of art galleries, performance venues, and fun local businesses.

  • The Loyola/UPT Line
    Planning a visit to the Warehouse Arts District? The Loyola/UPT Line, which opened in 2013, offers a convenient way to get there anytime. This line also visits the heart of the Financial District with a stop at Poydras Street, as well as the Medical District with stops along Tulane Avenue.
