Art Museum

Springtime in New Orleans always feels like a rebirth. The city bursts forth this time of year, full of life and creativity. But it's not just blooming flowers and budding leaves; the city's art scene also offers new colors and sounds to experience.

In honor of spring, our real estate agents are excited to highlight some of the current and upcoming exhibits and performances they're most excited about. Here's where to go to see the art scene in full bloom this spring.

  • New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) - 1 Collins Diboll Cir, New Orleans, LA 70124
The city's oldest institution dedicated to fine arts, the New Orleans Museum of Art has been highlighting classic works of art as well as cutting-edge artists since 1911. In addition to its vast permanent collection that spans centuries and continents, NOMA also hosts an ever-changing array of programs, exhibits and events. We're especially looking forward to Art in Bloom, which will display floral designs created by artists from New Orleans and beyond; the exhibit runs from March 26 to 30. The museum is convenient to many New Orleans homes for sale, and admission is free for Louisiana residents every Wednesday.

  • The Historic New Orleans Collection - 520 Royal St, New Orleans, LA 70130
If you're interested in local art and history, then there's no better place than the Historic New Orleans Collection. Dedicated to preserving and studying the culture and history of the New Orleans, this free museum has several exciting exhibits coming up. Be sure to catch French Quarter Life: People and Places in the Vieux Carré starting March 14. The exhibit will feature works of art that trace the history of the French Quarter's inhabitants over the course of 150 years. The museum itself is housed in a historic building in the French Quarter, making it a perfect place to stop if you're in the neighborhood visiting New Orleans open houses.

  • Ogden Museum of Southern Art - 925 Camp St, New Orleans, LA 70130
Located in Downtown New Orleans' vibrant Warehouse Arts District, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art is the premier museum dedicated to exploring the art and culture of the American South. The museum houses more than 4,000 works including paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs and crafts created by Southern artists. Several compelling exhibits are scheduled to open during the month of March, including Hoa Tay (Flower Hands), which opens March 15 and showcases Vietnamese-American artists working across the American South.

  • StudioBE - 2941 Royal St, New Orleans, LA 70117
Established in 2016 by local artist Brandan 'Bmike' Odums, StudioBE has grown to become a community gathering place and landmark. It's a place where local art and culture flourish, and where talented up-and-coming artists from New Orleans can display their newest and most exciting work. StudioBE is located in a sprawling, vibrantly-painted warehouse in the city's Bywater neighborhood.

  • Contemporary Arts Center New Orleans - 900 Camp St, New Orleans, LA 70130
Creativity and innovation are always on display at the Contemporary Arts Center New Orleans, a multidisciplinary space committed to showcasing cutting-edge contemporary art. From visual arts to live performances, this space has been a leader in the New Orleans' art world since 1976. Artist residencies and youth programs are regular occurrences, and the year-long Expose 2024 exhibit, which transforms the Arts Center's display windows into public art space, is ongoing through October of 2025.
