Festive Food

The New Orleans area is known for its food and drinks, and this is especially true during the holiday season. December is a month for feasting and celebration, and New Orleans definitely has that covered. Whether you're in the mood for a hand-crafted cocktail or a plate of your favorite comfort foods, here are some top food and drink events our real estate agents recommend attending.

  • Jazz Brunch at Public Service: 311 Baronne St., New Orleans, LA 70112
    Jazz Brunch at Public Service
reoccurs weekly on Sundays, lasting from 11 am - 3 pm. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a delicious brunch and some good music with friends. The Sidewalk Swing Band will be playing all the classics.

At this brunch, you can choose from a list of premium, hand-crafted cocktails. There will also be plenty of sweet and savory favorites to satisfy any palate.

  • Réveillon Dinner at Addis Nola: 2514 Bayou Rd., New Orleans, LA 70119
Throughout New Orleans, several restaurants are offering Revellion dinners in the month of December. These are dinners that are based on ingredients that traditional Creole families would have enjoyed in the 1800s. One restaurant participating in this event is Addis Nola. Stop in any time the restaurant is open, and you can enjoy this unique feast.

The Réveillon menu at Addis Mola features four courses. The first is Egusi Soup, and the second is Beef with Collard Sambusas. The third course is a delicious family meal of Lamb Sautee, Chicken Stew, and Veggies. End the experience with Addis Bread Pudding, which is sure to put a smile on your face.

  • Réveillon Dinner at Arnaud's Restaurant: 813 Bienville St., New Orleans, LA 70112
Another New Orleans restaurant participating in Réveillon is Arnaud's Restaurant in the French Quarter. This nostalgic eatery often has a jazz trio playing, and their four-course menu offers plenty of choices.

As your first course, enjoy a helping of Daube Glace. The second course is either Shrimp Remoulade, Pan Seared Scallops, Creole Onion Soup, or a Butter Lettuce Salad. You can't go wrong with the Wild Mushroom Risotto or Roasted Quail as a third course. And for dessert, the Hazelnut Tart offers the perfect balance of nutty, creamy, and sweet notes.

  • Sips & Spirits: 1418 Governor Nicholls St., New Orleans, LA 70116
    Sips & Spirits
is a happy hour event hosted by the New Orleans African American Museum. Surrounded by the stunning, historic decor of the museum, guests can enjoy craft cocktails prepared by local celebrities, followed by a delicious dinner of Creole favorites.

Sips & Spirits is scheduled for Thursday, December 5th, between 7 pm and 10 pm. Tickets are available in advance, with prices starting at just $25 per person.

  • SoFAB 20th Anniversary Gala: 1504 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd., New Orleans, LA 7011
The SoFAB 20th Anniversary Gala is a great opportunity to enjoy food and festivities while celebrating the history and success of the Southern Food and Beverage Museum of the American Cocktail. Tickets are available for purchase online and start at $300 per person.

This event is scheduled for Saturday, December 7th, from 6:30 - 10:00 pm. The menu will include both traditional and inventive dishes, and handmade cocktails will also be served. This is a lovely opportunity to dine with fellow foodies and support a museum that has enriched the local food scene.
